Desktop apps
Our desktop app service builds software that runs on Windows, macOS and Linux. The most common requests are apps that keep working when the internet drops, connect to printers, barcode scanners or scales, and download their own updates. The finish date is written on day one.
- One codebase ships to Windows, macOS and Linux.
- It keeps working offline and syncs when the connection is back.
- Code and signing certificates are in your name from day one.
- Bug fixes are free for 30 days after launch.
Who are desktop apps for?
Desktop apps are for companies whose work happens at a computer all day. The most common cases are software at a till, in a warehouse or on a production line that has to talk to a printer, barcode scanner, scale or another device. Places where work must not stop when the internet drops belong here too.
Not every job needs a desktop app. A web app in the browser is often enough and needs no installation. We tell you which fits on the first call; sometimes it is both.
What do we build?
We build the interface, the app, the server behind it where needed, and the installers. Most projects use Electron or Tauri, which ship one codebase to Windows, macOS and Linux. Because the interface is written with web technology, the same screens can run in a browser too.
Data lives on the computer first. If the internet drops, the app keeps working and syncs with the server once the connection is back. When central data and an admin panel are needed, we usually build the server side with Laravel and connect through an API.
We sign the installers, so Windows and macOS do not block the app as coming from an unknown publisher. When a new version is released, the app downloads the update itself; nobody has to walk from computer to computer.

How the project runs
- 01 You write, we reply within a business day Day 0 you describe what the app should do and which devices it connects to. Day 1 we reply. Day 2 we talk for 30 minutes.
- 02 One-page quote and definition of done Day 4 you get the quote. Day 5 the definition of done is signed, including the platforms and devices it will be tested on.
- 03 Design and build We show you the screens for approval, then build. You try interim builds on your own computers.
- 04 Testing We test with real devices and with the internet switched off.
- 05 Release and handover We deliver signed installers on the promised date and hand over the update setup and logins.
What happens after launch?
We fix bugs for free for 30 days. Operating systems update every year and the app has to keep up; optional monthly maintenance and support covers that. The code and signing certificates are yours, so you can continue with another team too. If you want to continue with another team, an e-mail is enough.
What you get at delivery
Each of these is written into the definition of done. If one is missing, the work does not count as delivered.
- The app running on the platforms in the definition of done
- Installers and signed builds
- Auto-update setup
- Server side and admin panel where needed
- Code repository and developer accounts in your name
- All access details handed over in writing
Frequently asked questions
01
Why a desktop app instead of a web app?
When work must continue offline, when the app talks directly to devices like printers or scales, or when it works with files on the computer. Otherwise we recommend a web app.
02
Do you build separately for Mac and Windows?
Usually not. One codebase produces Windows, macOS and Linux builds. Anything platform-specific is written separately.
03
How are updates delivered?
The app downloads and installs new versions itself. You can see which computer runs which version in the panel.
04
Can you replace our existing desktop software?
Yes. We first review the current program and its data and give you a written report. The plan for moving the data is in the quote.
05
Who owns the code and certificates?
You do. The code repository, signing certificates and developer accounts are opened in your name from day one.
