Glossary

Glossary

Plain meanings of the terms that come up in quotes and meetings. Each with a definition and an everyday example.

Who is the glossary for?

The glossary is for people who commission software but do not write it. When a term shows up in a quote, a meeting or an email, you find it here in plain English with an everyday example. The goal is that you know what you are buying before you decide.

The most asked-about terms are API, domain name, hosting and definition of done. If search visibility matters to you, see SEO and generative engine optimization. Our blog shows how these terms play out in real projects.

02

What if a quote has a term I do not understand?

Check the glossary first, then ask whoever wrote the quote. We explain every term in our quotes on the call. Do not sign an item you do not understand.

03

What is the difference between a domain name and hosting?

The domain name is your site's address; hosting is the server where the site's files live. The domain is the sign, hosting is the shop itself. Both should be registered in your name.

04

What does an API do?

An API is a door through which two programs exchange data. Your online store, for example, sends orders to the shipping company through an API. Most integration work is done with APIs.
