## What is biselam?

biselam is an app for meeting new people through stories. The explore screen mixes stories from all over the world. You wave at someone you like; if they wave back, a chat opens, and if they do not, you never see a rejection.

People can write under a nickname, masked, and decide for themselves when to reveal who they are. The masks come off when both sides want it.

## What did we build?

- **Stories and explore**: A story shot with the in-app camera gets a "Live" tag; one from the gallery does not.
- **Mutual wave**: A chat only opens when both people wave.
- **Masked chat**: Messages use a nickname but the account is known, so reports and blocks apply to it.
- **Voice calls**: Real-time audio runs on LiveKit. A masked user cannot start a call.
- **Safety**: Report and block from every chat and profile with one menu.
- **Boosts and tokens**: Stay at the top of the list for a chosen time, and in-app tokens.

## What does this project show?

Real-time audio, notifications, moderation and a mobile app in one product. We run its servers, queues and backups. If you are planning an app with a community, messaging or live calls, we made similar decisions here.
