# Landing page

> A landing page is a page built to send visitors from an ad, email or campaign towards one single action. That action might be filling in a form, requesting a quote or buying. There is no menu, no distracting link and no second goal.

## What is a landing page?

A landing page is a page built to move a visitor towards one goal. Your home page describes the whole company. A landing page describes one offer and ends with one button.

Here is an everyday case. You run a Google ad for air conditioner servicing. If people who click land on your home page, they see ten services and a menu. Many leave before finding what they came for. If they land on a landing page, they see what the service covers, which areas you serve, how the price is set and a short booking form. They are asked to do one thing: fill in the form.

## Why does it matter?

Ad spend pays off only when people who click take action. A cluttered page lowers that share, which is called the [conversion rate](/en/glossary/conversion-rate). A good landing page repeats the promise of the ad in its headline, loads fast on a phone, keeps the form short and shows concrete facts that build trust. It should still have a clean structure that search engines can read. We build campaign pages as part of our [web design](/en/services/web-design) work.

## Frequently asked questions

### How is a landing page different from a home page?

A home page covers the whole company and sends visitors to many pages. A landing page covers one offer and points to one action.

### Do I need a separate landing page for each campaign?

If the offer or audience is different, yes. When the ad and the page say the same thing, visitors know straight away that they are in the right place.

### Can a landing page live on my existing site?

Yes. It usually sits on the same domain as a separate page with a simplified menu, so tracking and form submissions stay in one place.
